Bartley Green Clean Up

Last Thursday I joined in a community clean up in Bartley Green Ward. The location was Lye Avenue and the roads off. This was a joint effort between the Council's Hit Squad, local Councillors and residents.
Firstly, the Council Hit Squad set to work clearing up fly tipping from several locations around the estate. A bed, a leather arm chair, and some fridges were amongst the things they picked up. They also tackled some large patches of brambles.
Meanwhile several residents, officers, Bartley Green Councillors Vivienne Barton and Bruce Lines, and I set to work litter picking. In less than an hour, the Council wagon was full to the brim with rubbish and brambles etc. Definitely a case of many hands making light work!
